How do I remove the notification tags that are appended to my email
ESET Smart Security and ESET NOD32 Antivirus give users the ability to append notifications to outgoing or incoming email messages, indicating that the message has been scanned and is not infected. It is very simple to remove these notifications or set them to appear in infected email messages only. To remove the notifications or adjust their settings, follow the steps below:
- Open the main program window by clicking the ESET icon next to the system clock, or by clicking Start - All Programs - ESET - ESET Smart Security or ESET NOD32 Antivirus.
- Press the F5 key to display the Advanced Setup window. In the Advanced setup tree, click Antivirus and antispyware - Email protection.
- In the Alerts and notifications section, set your personal preferences for incoming and outgoing email. Set it to "Infected email only", or "Never" to never have the message appended.
NOTE: With certain window settings, all three options (Never, To infected email only, To all scanned email) may not be visible in the drop-down menus. To see and select the other options, click the small up/down arrows until your desired option is visible.
- Click OK to confirm the settings.
NOTE: Any previous emails that have already been tagged will retain the original tag.
